The Rainforest Cafe has to be the best place for a kid to go to as long as they aren't scaredy cats. Any Hibachi place keeps mine entertained while waiting for food. IHOP has kids eat free on Fridays and it is also Character night where they have a different character each week! Those are the best ones for having a toddler, if you ask me.

Oh really? Both of the restaurants I've gone to, in totally different areas, have given you free drinks when you dine in, for everyone. You have to pay for them if you want them for take out.. I just assumed becuase they were in different states that they all did it. Sorry for the misconception. Anony, these are restaurants, places you eat at. They don't have to have a playground to be considered kid friendly. Dennys gives kids all sorts of activities to play with, they have their own menu and specials for kids. I'm not exactly a fan of the restaurant, but it's silly to say they aren't kid friendly based on the reasons you gave.

MissSushi, Pei Wei gives free drinks? Just for kids or everyone? We go there all of the time and they have always charged me for my pop. Anonymous, Cheesecake has a kids menu now. Just started a few months ago. We have ordered off of it twice now for my son. PF Changs also has a new kids menu, too.

We used to go to Pei Wei a lot when they were still serving pork. Unfortunately, its been removed in most of, if not all, of the resturants so we don't go there as much since one of the dishes with pork was one of my favorites! I like the free drinks when you dine in as well. Soda is so cheap for the resturant, it's such a rip off when they cost 2.30 cents per cup.

These are great - except Denny's, can't stand that place. Our favorite place is Claim Jumper, which I think is mainly a west/mid-west chain. We take our 2-1/2 year old there every few months. They have an affordable kids menu with a lot of variety (http://www.claimjumper.com/menu_little_jumpers.aspx) and for babies and toddlers, they have a free plate with Mandarin Oranges, Turkey, Cheese Sticks and Applesauce. They also have a Birthday Club for Kid's 12 and under, which includes a free Birthday Meal off the "Little Jumpers" Menu. They are very family-friendly!
