Kids Park Child Care

Mom–Me Time: Kids Park

How would you like a place that provides drop-in childcare in a safe and fun environment for preschool through school-age children day and night? If that sounds like perfection, check out Kids Park.

This place is the answer to many parents' prayers. The space is dedicated to preschool and school-age children who need a place to roam, play, and learn while mom and dad step out for an errand, job interview, the grocery store, or a night on the town. Offering hourly childcare without reservations, parents can drop their children off with qualified staff members for a very reasonable price.

Kids Park claims that all caretakers at the facilities are:

  • Certified in First Aid and CPR
  • Screened by the Department of Justice
  • Trained in Early Childhood Education and Recreation
  • Required to attend staff-development and skill-building workshops

Hours and cost vary by location but are generally very similar. Weekday hours are 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. with weekend nights open until midnight. A typical rate is $7.50 per hour for one child and $11.50 per hour for two kids. And unlike similar kids clubs, the one-time registration fee is only $25 — a bargain if you ask me!

And, the fun space also offers parties for lil ones. Registered families can reserve a private fiesta on Sundays before or after normal park hours.

I just don't think I could do it. I have a *really* hard time trusting anyone with my daughter. She's almost 2 and has been at the same daycare since she was 8 weeks old and I still try to drop in at weird times and question staff about safety, etc. I think I have a very skewed, skeptical view of the world b/c of my profession. :(

What do they do with your kids that late, I wonder? Do they have somewhere to lay them down or do your kids just run around like maniacs until midnight? Wow, looking through the web site, that place sounds really great! And I'd feel pretty confident in a place that had parents streaming in and out at random intervals all day. That somehow seems different than a place where you drop your kids off in the morning and nobody but the facility sees them again until the end of the day. :?
