Have you ever found yourself feeling a little reluctant to let your kids be driven by their grandparents because, well, their driving skills are aging too? Bad assumption! It turns out they might be safer with them than with you.
A recent study reported in the August issue of Pediatrics showed that children are actually safer in auto accidents when grandparents are behind the wheel.
Fred Henretig, lead researcher and an emergency doctor at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, tells the Associated Press, "We were surprised to discover that the injury rate was considerably lower in crashes where grandparents were the drivers."
