Lil Community: Sensitive Skin While Prego?

Lots of moms-to-be wonder out loud. This post was submitted by Beaner in The Pregnancy Posse group.

I have had the absolute best pregnancy up until now. At 17 weeks along, last week, I developed this weird itchy rash after wearing sterling silver earrings (that I wore pre-pregnancy). I've had reactions to metal on my ears before, but nothing like this. It felt like my ears were on fire. What's worse is that over the course of this past week, this annoying rash spread to my cheeks, then to my neck, down to my chest and now it's on my belly and the tops of my hands. I went to the dermatologist, and she said it sounds like being pregnant made my skin extra sensitive, and that's why it reacted this way. Have any of you had experience with sensitive skin or rashes? Ugh.

Talk about motherly things on your mind at The Pregnancy Posse group over in the LilSugar Community.

I have psoriasis, and because of the immune system changes that go on during pregnancy it goes absolutely INSANE. It is really really out of control during pregnancy, and I cannot really use any creams or do anything for it. On top of that, I couldn't use the lights or go out in the sun during either of my pregnancies becuase i was pregnant in late fall/winter/early spring and its cold!

Yes!! I'm 17 weeks right now and I started to get bumps over my body at 15 1/2 weeks. They seem like bug bites in patches and itch like crazy! I had just started using a new bath wash and lotion from Bath and Body Works- so I'm thinking that's what's causing my skin to break out in these itchy bumps. I haven't used the products for a couple of days and I'm not itching so much anymore. Unfortunately I itch the worst at night while in bed which makes it very difficult to get to sleep. :(
