Lilka Pants

babysugar Diaries: Lilka Pants

Just as soon as my hospital bags were packed, I found myself a cozy pair of pajama bottoms that happen to be quite easy on the eyes, too. Instead of scurrying down the hospital corridors in beat up flannel pants with balled up fuzz dangling on them, I'll be sashaying with my new bebé in festive cotton pantaloons by Lilka ($48).

Each pair is crafted with a whimsical print — peacocks, doves, florals and parasols adorn the wide legged pants. Paired with a white tee or tank, the heavenly trousers are adjustable and sit right at the hip making them perfect for women recovering from vaginal births. I'm almost looking forward to the recovery!

Since I'm not postpartum and my family does new jammies every Christmas Eve (and that is the only gift my husband and I are giving each other since we are moving) I have now officially put the bug in his ear that these are the cutest! And it helps that we actually have an Antrhopologie about 4 miles down the road.

They are cute, but I'd never unleash the postpartum goo on something so expensive. I'd rather dirty up the hospital's stuff than mine. Who wants a bunch of laundry to do when you get home? Plus, gowns are easier when the nurses come to peek at your crotch stitches or incision.

I agree with mhg and macgirl, there's no way I'd chance something that cute (and that expensive) while still in the hospital. I didn't have a problem with wearing pants even with exams but the bleeding would ruin those within a few hours.

Those are really cute, I wouldn't take the chance of ruining them in the hospital post birth though.

um, while those are cute, i would never wear pants after giving birth. i wore two beautiful nursing gowns with robes after both boys were born. i could hike them up when i sat down so i wouldn't ruin them. don't know about you, but nurses came in to check how things were down there fairly often and i didn't have to remove anything to do it. just a thought.
