This Little Piggy Went to Prada

Texts and Tunes: This Little Piggy Went to Prada

Different from the old nursery rhymes you've heard a hundred times, This Little Piggy Went to Prada ($14) is a hilarious and beautifully illustrated book full of witty and stylishly revised poems by Amy Allen.

Instead of the classic "Eeny meeny miny moe, catch a tiger by the toe," you'll read "Daddy Sweetie, don't say 'no', Buy an Aston at the show. If it hurts, the Rolls can go. Mummy wants a Vantage so." Bound in red and hot pink linen, the jewel of a book is a perfect gift for a Christian Louboutin wearing mama–to–be. And, because every now and then, we all need a break from Goodnight Moon.

Oh I think it's just a fun book. I don't think reading it to your child will turn him or her into a snob. If you're worried about nursery rhymes, you should read the old mother goose books. I have literally crossed about half of them out. They are awful. And Babar, which is a beloved tale, is married to his cousin! ha. I just think we are so sensitive sometimes.

Yeah, Party, but would you read it to your child??? I don't think a kid would know the difference between jokey and real, and next thing you know she/ he would be reciting the rhymes to you at Bloomingdale's expecting a new pair of Prada shoes. ;)

If I was ever to have a baby (which my crazy, single gal partying lifestyle just does not permit) I would totally want someone to get me this book. It's absolutely fabulous!
