Making Rattles with Popcorn Kernels

Lil Tip: Popcorn Day

Instead of spending another $10 on a rattle that your baby will play with once, create one with items you already have laying around the house.

Take one of junior's old bottles and pour some popcorn kernels into the dry container. Then put a lid on it (without the nipple) and you've got a brand new shaker! Your friends will think you're oh so clever.

Just be careful when your child is using your new homemade toy. If the top was to become loose, it would become a real choking hazard.

Add a small toy and this could be a real hit. I did something similar and my kid loved it. I filled an old bottle with some dry adzuki beans and a small finger puppet toy. Great, no-cost distraction!
