Mother Creates Video Messages For Her Daughter to Watch Before Dying of Cancer

Elizabeth Joice was 36 when she lost her battle to cancer just six weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Lily, but she made sure that Lily would never be fully without her presence. Elizabeth was part of a documentary project by New Jersey director Chris Henze called 40 Weeks — a look into the pregnancies of 12 different women. She was in remission from her first battle with cancer in 2011, but the cancer returned during her 12th week of pregnancy in 2013, in the middle of the documentary filming.

Rather than stop filming completely, Elizabeth remained positive throughout the project and pregnancy. Along with Henze and her husband, Max, she started to film specific clips for her unborn daughter to have after her passing, which were put to children's music with animations or included popular television characters. Henze told ABC News, "I took 70 hours of footage of Liz and her husband, Max, and we created a piece for Lily so she could continue to see her mother and hear her mother's voice."

This collection of heartwarming videos from Elizabeth is something that Lily still watches now, and Henze says the 1-year-old loves it. It is definitely the ultimate gift, allowing Lily to hold on to pieces of the mother she never got a chance to know for the rest of her life.
