Mom Loses Children After Publicly Humiliating Daughter

Mom Loses Children After Publicly Humiliating Daughter

The latest headlining story about parents publicly humiliating their kids is a shocker — even compared to the sandwich board Michael Bell Sr. devised for his son or the dad who embarrassed his toddler on Reddit. This one, in fact, is so clearly cruel and abusive that authorities have placed the girl involved and all her siblings in foster care.

The humiliating punishment, meted out by a Fridley, Minnesota mom, was called "diaper duty": she shaved the head of her 12-year-old daughter and locked her outside for more than 30 minutes wearing just a diaper and a tank top. The pre-teen's offense was getting an "F" on her report card.

What a sad story. Some people seriously need to think before they act. I'm leaving it at that!

Some ppl have no business being parents the mother should be forced to wear a dunce cap saying I can't help.that I'm a poor excuse for a mother and waste of space. Keep them away from those monsters

That is an awful way to treat someone, especially over a school grade! As for your comment Julie towards Robin. How rude! You have no right to belittle and insult others when you clearly have no manners!! I hope you have taught your children to be more polite! Robyn I think you are a wonderful aunt for taking the time to help your niece, clearly you helped her and I'm sure you are a great mum!

My son's studies were fine until he hit Middle School and had multiple teachers with a long list of requirements. He struggled with organization in a major way. Things that can help struggling kids include strong and constant parental communication with teachers, getting a counselor who can intervene, and making sure your child gets proper sleep (a big concern in my house due to my own bad sleep habits). We eventually enlisted the help of family therapy through our HMO--highly recommended!

>>Wow that's really messed up! Maybe if the mom was more involved in her daughters studies she would have done better. I have seen it myself... My niece was not doing good at all. I came over every day and helped her study and assist with homework her grades went from fs and ds to high cs low bs. I was so proud of her and now she knows to do good you gotta work for the results. Shame on this mom. Some people should not be able to reproduce and this mom is one!>> Okay, Robin Jordan... I can't even begin to imagine how you were able to help your niece... it clearly wasn't with her English skills! I don't understand how we expect our children to do well in school when a) the skills aren't taught and b) the adults can't even grasp the concepts. I pray that you do not have children or if you do, expect them to do well if your response is an example of your education.

I'm for the sandwich board that says 'I'm lazy and my grades are horrible so I have to wear this sign to let the world know', but this is straight up cruel. I would only do the sandwich board starting in high school and/or my kids commit a crime.
