Mom Realizes Pedophile is Targeting Daughter via Facebook

In a scary reminder about the potential dangers of social media, a mom in South Bend Indiana says a pedophile with a fake Facebook profile was targeting her 10-year-old daughter on Facebook. The Facebook user was pretending to be a teenage boy.

After discovering days of conversations between her daughter and the Facebook user, the mom intervened just in time to prevent an in-person meeting at Hamilton Elementary that they had set up.

Then, on her daughter's account, the mom "asked why he did not show up for their scheduled meeting at the school. He messaged her back and said he had seen police cars around area. He went on to say he was not sure that she was a real girl and felt like it was a trap set up by police."
