Mom–Me Time: My New Year's Resolutions

Mom–Me Time: My New Year's Resolutions

Every new year delivers a revised set of resolutions. This year I wanted my resolutions to be something that would make me a new and improved version of myself – a mother, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a woman. Where to begin!

But, the ones that tugged the most at me were the mother and wife ones, mostly because my husband and daughter have to deal with me every day. So here are a few of my resolutions:

  1. The potty mouth has got to go.
  2. Try to have more home cooked meals (or sometimes even just warm meals) on the table at a reasonable hour.
  3. No talking on the phone while feeding my babe her dinner.
  4. Breathe life back into old playgroups that have fallen by the wayside in recent months.
  5. Print out pictures from my camera and put them in albums before I have a stack of hundreds collecting dust on my shelves.

What are some of your resolutions?

I'm hoping to conquer the dinner one myself. On a side note for all of you with digital photos, why take on the daunting task of printing them out? Upload them to kodakgallery.com and print books! I do this every December and give them as gifts to the grandparents, plus I keep one for myself. I know it doesn't take the place of a real scrap book with all the little fun cutouts, stickers and such but it gives you something tangible :-)

I completely relate to the photo resolution. I'm trying my best to keep my son's website updated but his baby book and actual photo album have fallen by the wayside. The whole revolution of digital cameras is a curse and a blessing. I mean literally with one holiday you can end up with 300 pictures after everyone sends you their photos - how is that even manageable??!! I'm drowning in digital photos!

Those are great resolutions. I went on vacation with some friends and their son and it was hilarious to watch all the non-parents battle the potty mouth. I suddenly see why some parents institute a "bad word tax."

Great resolutions - ones that I might have to copy! Really important for moms who are busy managing households, holding down jobs, running carpools and trying to be a wife - being on TIME. I'm never on time. If I'm not 5 minutes late, I'm 25 minutes late. I resolve to not be late anymore. It's highly annoying and not fair to the people who wait for you.Happy New Year!

I didn't think of making resolutions but all yours could apply to me, especially the last one.
