For 7 months I hadn't gained much, then the pounds piled on towards the end of the pregnancy. I gained about 60 pounds. Of course I had pre-eclampsia, so it was all fluid gain and I lost 50 pounds before my 6 week postpartum checkup. Some days I lost as much as 8 pounds. Now my son is almost 9 months old and I'm 2 pounds lighter than when I became pregnant. So now I'm back to working on my pre-pregnancy weight loss goal.

I was working out and eating very healthy...before the pregnancy...than I stopped. I got so lazy and ate whatever I wanted. So I ended up gaining 40+ pounds... It took me about 9 months to lose the weight and a whole year to actually get back into shape. The thing no one ever considers is that even when you've lost the weight your body most likely won't be the same....It took me a lot of crunches and lungs!

I went overboard, definitely over the limit. I think it's around 85 lbs or more. I lost all of them and then some after the baby. And the baby is now 5 yrs old, he's a really healthy happy boy.

i think the better question is, "Did you lose all the weight you gained, whether you gained it or not?". And for me, depsite all the assurances that if I just nursed and worked out regularly it would fall right off, I am still hanging on to about 10 pounds, and now I'm pregnant again, and desperately trying to keep from gaining the same 35 pounds, leaving myself with 45 (minus baby, etc.) to lose.

My 'trick' this time was eating too much bbq at the beginning of the year! I had about 10 extra lbs on me to start with, and when I started getting heartburn I had to let some of my favorite foods go. Too much spice and too much fat really agree with me, but not so much with Lucy! So my body had some extra fat to start, and no more ribs smothered in extra hot sauce. I've been craving mainly kale, spinach, and fruit of all kinds, so thats pretty much been my diet. I'm not one to go without food simply for vanity!

I stupidly gained about 40 with this pregnancy. I'm kicking myself. I was on modified bedrest at the beginning and got out of the habit of exercise and never picked it back up when I was given the green light. Then I also decided to eat pretty much everything I wanted, which was silly. Now I'm 3 months out and still have 20 pounds to lose--all of which is just "fat" weight. I'm so bummed. :( With my first, I gained about 35 pounds, but lost it pretty quickly because I started eating well and working out shortly after his birth. This time, I can't seem to find the time or motivation to exercise and I'm finding it really hard to curb my eating. If I could do it all over, I'd definitely find the willpower to stick to the 20 pound gain I wanted.

This is my first pregnancy and I am 16 weeks. I've gained about 5 pounds. My doctor wants me to gain 25-35, though I'm aiming for the bottom of that range since I'm super short and petite to begin with (and have a bad back). Amanda, what is your secret??? Did you have morning sickness or something? I am amazed you have only gained 5 pounds at 23 weeks!!

I gained 30lbs with my son. That was still in the range my Dr. had given me. Do far with little girl I've gained 5lbs and I'm 23 weeks, so I think I'm on target. We'll see how the rest of time goes though!

I gained 35lbs. O.o That was not my intention. When I went back to work, which is about three miles from my house, I walked to and from the station every day. It took me a little less than a year to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.
