Last week, Forbes released its annual list of the World's 100 Most Powerful Women. The women who made the list are politicians, CEOs, bankers, cultural icons, billionaires and entrepreneurs.
The one number that stands out: Eighty-eight percent are moms!
This group of overachievers includes Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook), presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, and actress/humanitarian Angelina Jolie, who have 14 kids among them. (We noted though that the average number of children among the group is two).
"It's a percentage that surprised even us," Forbes says. "Power women today are not necessarily choosing career or family. They are doing both."
Has being a mom made you feel more powerful?
