When we got word of Much Loved ($15, originally $18), photographer Mark Nixon's tribute to children's most-beloved teddy bears and stuffed toys, we knew we had to learn more. Inspired by his son, Calum, at play with his beloved stuffed bunny, Nixon embarked upon a mission to document the histories of adults and their childhood "best friends."
"I was struck by how attached [my son] Calum was to his Peter Rabbit," Nixon told Fast Company. "The way he squeezed it with his thumb, and how he just had to sleep with it every night. I remembered having similar childhood feelings about my own stuffed Panda."
The result? A stunningly beautiful book with touching personal memories ranging from the humorous to the tragic. Even U2 frontman Bono brought in a teddy bear with a meaningful story — it had belonged to a friend who had died in a car accident in the '80s.
We were so inspired by Nixon's photo essay, we thought that it would be fun for you, our readers, to share the stories of your (or your kids') own most-loved stuffed toys. Head over to Instagram and post a pic of your special lovey along with the hashtag #popsugarmoms.
