I'd much rather see my kids play at the park than seated in front of the television, but there's one show I don't mind them watching. In fact, even I enjoy Postcards from Buster.
The animated star of this PBS series, Buster Baxter is also on the show, Arthur. But since the rabbit's parents divorced, he splits his time between his mom's home in Elwood City and traveling with his father, a pilot. And, Buster creates video postcards about his adventures to send home to his friends.
From making maple syrup in Vermont to building lowrider bikes in East Los Angeles to visiting a school for the blind in Alabama, he makes his way across the country exploring the different ways children live. The show is a mix of animation and actual filming of the families the bunny visits. More than just a cute cartoon, the show teaches the richness of diversity and life's realities.
