For all of the hi-tech excitement that we spotted at this past week's Toy Fair , there's one genre that was refreshingly void of on/off switches, batteries, and USB hookups. Durable, classic wooden toys are a hot trend for 2013, and we couldn't be happier about it. Check out some of our favorite timeless wooden playthings for tots — coming to a toy store near you later this year!
Little Partners Toy Tower
Fans of Little Partners ' Learning Tower will love its playtime companion for little ones — the Toy Tower ($50). It's available now, and comes in blue, green, and red.
There's nothing that we love more than a toy that does double-duty, and Kinderfeets ($99-130) is a shining example. These beautiful wooden training bikes feature a chalkboard finish (available in a variety of colors), so that your kids can both exercise their creativity . . . and just plain exercise.
Since 1831(!), Italian brand Sevi has been making high-quality wooden toys and accessories. This fortress — and all of the fun figurines that go along with it — stood out amongst their many fun offerings.

Le Toy Van Pirate Ship
The construction of all of Le Toy Van's wooden playthings truly wowed us, as did the fact that all of the brand's products are ethically made in its own factory in Indonesia. This pirate ship stood out as a favorite.
Wonderworld Trix Trax
A fun take on the traditional marble maze, Trix Trax features two-way flippers, meaning that your ball can take a different route every time that it goes down the track.

The perfect plaything for a baby on the move, the Wonder Walker (available later this year) features classic styling and the sweetest teddy bear behind the wheel.
