Newspapers Help Keep Odors Away

Lil Tip: Newspaper Deodorizer

It seems like every year a new diaper pail hits the market and promises to keep stinky odors contained. New moms buy into the concept and after about six months, they come to the realization that no trash can is immune to the foul stench of poopy diapers — even after a good scrub.

Rather than buying a new rubbish bin twice a year, wad up some newspaper and place it in the receptacle for a day and let it soak up the icky stench. Your nose and wallet will thank you.

What a fab tip! My diaper genie sadly has not been used as of late. I've resorted to the kitchen trash bin, I empty that on a reg basis.

I don't know much about baby diapers, but I know in the nursing home/hospital we have rolls of small trash bags, and we always bag up the stinky stuff right away, and tie them tight. the odor problems aren't so bad once the situation is contained.

i agree does this really work!? my pail keeps the odor inside but hold your nose as soon as the lid opens, or you have to change the bag! I have left it outside overnight with lemons in it, nothin...i am doing this tomorrow!
