Just remembered that big fight with Clayton in the Tarzan level...which was the first time I'd fought-to-kill with a human character in a video game, and honestly quite startling, in comparison to the tone of the rest of the game to that point.
Also, whatever happened to the Lego games?

Oh my goodness, Journey is such a good recommendation, especially here. The designers made that game with the intent to make the few moments that you shared with other players feel precious and beautiful, and it worked. It's a game about sharing wonder, and awe, really.
And as much as I love Portal, anyone running through the single-player part who doesn't get sarcasm is going not going to think GLaDOS (the antagonist) funny in any way, and could really get the wrong message from the slightly dark, ironic humor of the game.
