One of the reasons I love the Bay Area is the eclectic antique market held once a month in Alameda County. Bird cages, guitars, dining tables and china sets are common merchandise, but yesterday one item made me stop dead in my tracks — an OB/GYN examining table. Stunned, I waited to hear what passersby said of the labor worthy furniture. Here are a few notable quotes I overheard:
- You could take the padding off and replace it with a granite counter-top and make it a kitchen island!
- I'd strap my husband down to that!
- I didn't know they sold torture devices at the antique market.
What would you say if you saw this at your local flea market?
