A pregnant mom riding a bike that hauls six kids? Wow!
Emily Finch, 34, a Portland resident and mother of six (ages two to 11), constructed a bike in the last month of her most recent pregnancy that allows her to transport herself and six little passengers.
While pregnant, Finsh decided to make some changes in her life, and getting rid of her large vehicle was one of them. She switched to a custom bike instead, and after a difficult start, was soon feeling happier and healthier. Since the family bike is Finch’s only mode of transportation, her daily bike rides (during which she hauls hundreds of pounds) can add up to 20 miles a day, and have helped her lose 25 pounds in two years.
