Paralyzed Mom Leaves a Legacy of Courage

Paralyzed Mom Leaves a Legacy of Courage

Chyna Young was only 18 years old when she passed away this Wednesday, but her courage and determination as a mother will live on forever.

On the night of June 14th, 2011, Chyna's boyfriend forced his way into her home and shot her four times. She was two months pregnant at the time. Chyna was paralyzed from the neck down as a result of her injuries. She spent the five months that followed the shooting fighting for her unborn child's life, and in November, gave birth to a baby girl named Jada.

Chyna was making progress with her recovery, and had shared that she was motivated by wanting to play with her daughter. She died on Wednesday of complications from pneumonia.
