How far would you go to secure a place for your child in a great public school?
After Greenville County, South Carolina declared a start time for a "first come, first served" school choice registration process, parents not only set up tents and slept outside for three nights to hold their places in line, but one parent was injured in the mad rush to get on that line in the first place. The stampede occured at A.J. Whittenberg Elementary, an innovative school that focuses on engineering.
