Parents Resort to Armored Backpacks for Kids

In the wake of the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, parents are resorting to any means possible to protect their kids at school. For some, that means actual armor. 

As the Huffington Post reports, the sales of armored backpacks have soared in the past week. At one store in Salt Lake City, over 200 purchase requests came in on Wednesday alone.

Parents buying the backpacks, like Ken Larson of Denver, say it's a no brainer: "My son's life is invaluable. If I can get him a backpack for $200 that makes him safer, I don't even have to think about that."
