Parents Who Have Favorite Children

Are You Offended When Asked If You Have a Chosen Child?

Shhh! Sometimes there isn't a secret. Even if you're a mother who doesn't play favorites, you've probably been asked time and time again which one of your kiddos is your chosen child. Thirty-six percent of LilSugar readers said that they love their offspring equally, so we're wondering if you get annoyed when people prod further?

I have never asked anyone that. If they tell me, that's fine, but I wouldn't even say it out loud to anyone, because I wouldn't want my children to know. No one likes to hear they were unplanned, even if there aren't favorites in the family. Sometimes it's just obvious though, like if the last sibling out of a bunch of them is much younger.

Yeah, I have never heard of anybody being asked that! And it is pretty sad, that some people seem to have favourites..

People actually ask this? I've never even heard of the phrase "chosen child" before. It sounds like something out of Children of the Corn. I also find it strange that only 36% of people love their children equally, meaning that 64% of the people out there apparently admit to loving one child less than another. I'm really glad I'm an only child.

people would really PROD FURTHER? seriously, that would be pretty rude. I can't imagine asking someone once, let alone prodding further when they say they love all their children equally! Yes, I'd be offended if that ever happened to me!
