See the Sexist Ad That Made 2 Real Estate Agents Delete Their Facebook Account

Two real estate agents from Issaquah, WA, are in some serious trouble with the working mom community, and honestly, with women in general. Chase and Jeffrey Costello sent out hundreds of copies of an ad for their real estate group, which features side-by-side photos — one photo of them, dressed in suits and labeled, "Full Time Professionals," the other a chaotic photo of a woman tied up, kids all around her, labeled "Part Time Agent" — posing the question, "Who would you rather represent you?"

The thoughtless ad that shows men as more competent than women made its rounds on Facebook, and after receiving numerous calls, emails, and comments, the Costellos issued an apology to the people they offended, which is no longer available to view on Facebook.

There are thousands of professional agents working in our area who are also dedicated mothers, including several members of our team. Our original hope with this message was to show the value of having a full-time agent in a competitive market, but we completely failed. We have the upmost [sic] respect for moms and working mothers, and we know that the job of a mother is far more demanding than what we do as real estate professionals. Again, we are truly sorry.

Robin Baldwin, a working mom of three, had some advice: "Next time, I'd probably have a woman look it over before you decide to put it out." And unimpressed mama Victoria Daudelin took it personally, "As a mom I probably would not want to use them professionally."

Looks like the Costellos may have some trouble moving forward even after the apology — they didn't know who they were messing with!
