Sexting. Cyberbullies. Online predators. When your kids have access to a phone, computer, or tablet with Internet capabilities, it seems there's no end to the worries. And now there's a new one: kids getting hooked on online pornography.
ABC News is reporting on the rise of pornography addiction among kids as young as 8. Nathan Haug, a former addict who was interviewed for ABC's report, says he quickly learned how to hide his habit from his family, and Breanne Saldivar, also a recovering addict, says she isolated herself throughout high school because of the shame she struggled with.
Take note: kids (girls included) are more likely to become addicted to online pornography than adults, the addiction can lead to criminal behavior (like stealing credit card numbers to pay for it), and the most popular access point is the one we moms like to think we have the most control over: home.
