Sarah Jessica Parker's Surrogate's Safety Compromised

Sarah Jessica Parker's Surrogate's Safety Compromised

Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby, Matthew Broderick were thrilled to announce that they were expecting twin additions via surrogate last month. But now the couple, already parents to son, James, 6, fear for the safety of the woman carrying their daughters as her identity has been discovered and her computer and phone were hacked into. The pregnant woman has also received threats. In an interview with Access Hollywood, Sarah Jessica said:

"I care deeply about her, and I am incredibly outraged by the sort of extraordinary and unprecedented invasion of her privacy. I think even given the unfortunate way we live now ... it has still shocked me, and it has still really disappointed me."

This is a concern for any mother wishing to protect her children, but being that the Sex and the City star lives such a high profile life — do you think she should have been so open about her impending babes?

Who would threaten a pregnant woman? What kind of threats are we talking about here?

I think it's great she's using a surrogate- it's a great way for Sarah and Matt to expand their family and it is so unfortunate that this woman has been threatened. Let them live in peace!

That's really sad, people should leave her alone.

i think they should move the surrogate into a protected environment stat! they probably already have. SJP is a practical and smart mother and businesswoman.

"we are expecting an addition to our family in the fall" is very different from "we hired ourselves a womb! mary jane smith of new york has done it before and doesn't want anything to do with her own kid, so we're pretty confident that she won't keep ours. and btw, we are hving twins! and btw again, girl twins". very different announcements.

How could she NOT have made a statement? If she had suddenly been photographed with two baby girls around New York, there definitely would have been a media frenzy, a huge invasion of privacy into her life, and I'm willing to bet the surrogate would have been found. Just because she's not conventionally pregnant doesn't mean that she and Matthew shouldn't be allowed to share that they're going to become parents again.

I don't think SJP was wrong in releasing the information at all. It's exciting news, but given how nuts the paps and tabloids have been lately (checking Brooke Shields' mom out of the home for an interview), it's clear they will stop at nothing to get a story. It just made me think — stars have security, but their surrogates likely don't.

i think that it's horrible that this is happening, but to say that maybe SJP shouldn't have been open about this is just wrong. Celebs all over the place talk about it as soon as they are preggo even before they are showing so it shouldn't be any different for her. i just hope that everyone stays safe!

SB Marilyn; not in a perfect world, but obviously we live in a time where people will sell out anybody for a buck. i should be able to leave my doors unlocked when i leave the house, and my purse in the shopping cart at target and come back to find everything just as it was. but people will do ANYTHING for money and use the "if i don't somebody else will" line to justify their actions. when the paps take pictures of famous people, is it REALLY a surprise? just because it's terrible doesn't mean you shouldn't expect it. this is part of the price of fame.

I was going to say the exact same thing as Smiley- if SJP were actually pregnant herself, and they announced that they were expecting, how is that different? They are still excited to become parents again, and most people who are expecting want to share the exciting news.It is sad though that this woman who is doing an amazing thing for them is now being harassed and all of that. And its even sadder that people are taking time to search out who she is and bother her. Hopefully SJP and Matthew Broderick can do whatever necessary to protect the woman and their children, and have a wonderful, happy pregnancy/delivery!

I agree with anon and critty. They didn't do anything wrong. And announcing that they were having babies via a surrogate wouldn't have been any different that had she been pregnant herself.Sucky situation all around.

I mean they "didn't do anything wrong" - lack of sleep here!!

I agree with Anonymous, they didn't release any information about the surrogate, so they did anything wrong at all. No one deserves that sort of treatment, famous or not. As a mother who is having a baby born in 2 hours with the help of an amazing gestational surrogate, my heart goes out to the Intended Parents and their surro. Now, off to the hospital!

Eek, well they should hire extra security for the woman and probably give her even more of a bonus.

This is just sad. Why can't people be famous? Why can't you use your talent to make money? I use my talent to make money, does that make it OK for people to stalk, threaten or do horrible things to people in my life just because I'm good at what I do?

"threats"? strange and sad. again, i don't get why anyone would want to be famous.
