I have worked for Stride Rite for the past 5 years, and I would like to reassure you that Yes, no matter where you go you may encounter someone who treats their job as if it were any other retail job and just don't care therefore your service may be compromised. The trick is to pick these people out and don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion. We do still rely on our training, the brannock, and our eyes, in fact, personally I don't use the electronic measuring device because it takes longer and for now, during the testing phase, it is no always accurate so I have to measure both ways as it is. Once they get the machines calibrated properly they will be an asset especially on busy crowded days and at the Outlet stores, but I am old fashioned and trust something I control myself. For those of you with kids who are now out of Stride Rite Perk Up!! As part of these Collections stores that are opening across the country they are including a larger size range including boys/girls shoes up to size 7!! which for little girls is a size 9!! This summer be looking in your Nashville, TN Cool Springs Galleria for our renovation into a larger, more open Collections Store! Thanks and have a Blessed Day!Your Faithful Stride Rite Fit Specialist

I had chicken feet as a kid. And because of it, I couldn't find shoes that fit properly which resulted in serious leg pains. It was a Stride Rite saleman that figured out what was causing the pain. I hope that they still have just as skilled salespeople and aren't relying solely on technology to figure out the right fit. Sometimes you need someone with a good eye to figure out if your kid has the right fit.

i love stride rite, and try to buy most of my kids shoes there, but i get frustrated spending $50 for a pair of shoes that they are in for a couple months! i was so happy when i found the stride rite outlet, where i could get the same shoes that were in the regular store, but for literally half the price!!

Stride Rite is the ONLY place that my parents would buy my shoes when I was a kid...its the only store that had shoes to fit my wide foot with high insteps. My son has the same feet! I hate it now that he is out of kids sizes and having to shop for shoes in the mens section. The only shoes we have found in these new sizes to fit him are Skechers or Vans. And dress shoes...forget it. Stride Rite was great when he was little. They always had something cute and stylish that actually fit his feet!
