Study Shows Cell Phone Use Poses Danger to Fetuses

Recent research by Dr. Hugh Taylor, chief of Yale's Department of OB/GYN and Reproductive Sciences, suggests that cell phone radiation while pregnant may lead to a decrease in brain activity and increase in hyperactivity once the baby is born. Dr. Taylor urges moms-to-be to hold their phones away from their body, and to be careful when handling a cell phone.

Taylor's warnings are renewing the discussion around whether cell phone usage can cause cancer if held close to the body, with criticisms being leveled at cell phone manufacturers for only mentioning these risks in the fine print of their instruction manuals. Several countries, including France, have banned advertisers from selling cell phones to children because of the risks.
