The girls have done a lot of maturing since we first laid eyes on them in 16 and Pregnant, but they still have a lot of growing up to do. One in 10 American babies is born to a teen mom. The statistics are alarming — babies are having babies. What steps have you taken to make sure your children don't end up in this situation? My mother never gave me 'the talk' because she had always been open about sex with me. It was never this big mystery but something I figured out along the way and she answered any question whenever I had one. That's the way I plan on doing it. She's only 5 months now, so I don't have to worry right now, but I don't want kids in school telling her crap. I want to be the one to give her useful information.

My girl is four... but I plan on discussing the matter when she's 10, or earlier if she gets her period before that. I have always been very honest with her, and plan on telling her, "If you're not comfortable talking to me about birth control, ask an aunt."

She's only 21 months, so I sure hope I don't have to have "the talk" anytime soon. Although, I'm ready to do it at the first sign of curiosity.
