Teen Takes Selfie With Laboring Teacher

Teen Criticized For Taking Selfie Photo With Laboring Teacher

A teen who took a picture of himself with his laboring teacher in the background is being criticized for being callous. Florida teen Malik Whiter took a photo and captioned it, "Selfie with my teacher while she having contractions." He wanted to commemorate the moment of his teacher having contractions at school. But as the photo has gone viral, critics are questioning his motives, saying he should have been more sensitive to his teacher, who he says didn't want to smile for the photo.

What do you think? Was Whiter being rude? For more on what Whiter has to say, read the whole story on The Stir.

Why does it matter if she's okay with it. He had good intentions- to commemorate the special moment. Stop overthinking it!

Totally innapproriate! People seem to have lost all good judgement about what is acceptable for them to document with a photo and what is not. This was his teacher. It is one thing to document yourself, your spouses or family member labor with permission someone else and without consent is very poor manners and very poor judgement. Students need to be educated on the very real impact of this type of behavior. This photo will follow the teacher and could impact her job search and her credibility with students in the future. 30% of workers report negative professional reprucussions, including reprimands, not getting a job the applied for and even firing, due to things on social media either that they posted or someone else posted. These types of photos are not just fun and games. For those who say relax it's funny I wonder how they would feel if they were on the other side of the lense.
