We love that the newest trend in birthday parties is to incorporate fun learning activities, but would you be excited to send your child off to a party at a gun range?
Nanci and David Prince, of Eagle Gun Range in Lewisville, TX, where the shooting birthday parties will be offered, say that there was a growing demand from Texas parents to provide this kind of training for their children. David Prince told ABC News, "We're reaching out and trying to educate people so they understand there is a responsibility that goes with the right and privilege to bear arms. It's a responsibility to learn how to do it effectively and safely."
But some moms, like Dawn McMullin, don't think combining shooting lessons with birthday parties is such a great idea: "To put it in a party or game atmosphere just seems to not respect a gun as much as we should respect guns."
