Three-Year-Old Overdoses on "Date Rape" Drug

Three-Year-Old Overdoses on "Date Rape" Drug

A thirsty three-year-old girl overdosed on GHB, also known as the "Date Rape" drug after mistaking it for water. The preschooler and her older sister had accompanied their mother to a National City apartment to score drugs.

There, the tot drank what appeared to be bottled water. The near fatal mistake landed the youngster in the hospital, her mother in jail and her sister at a relative's place.

Do you think this mama deserves another chance with her children?

Any adult that believes it's ok to take their child with them while they engage in illegal harmful activities proves they have no safe boundaries and need to be educated before they ever get their children back.

Only if she can get clean and straighten up her act.

No! Hell NO. Thank God she's alive. she should never be allowed to put them at risk again. and to the posters making comments justifying her behavior, excusing it in any way, if you are serious, please, for the love of humanity don't ever breed.

If I was in charge I'd execute people for doing crap like this. Doing drugs is one thing but when you're stupid and careless enough to bring young children with you to "score" then you shouldn't be clogging up this country, let alone raising children. I would also make animal cruelty and drunk driving capital offenses. Harsh and controversial I know, but this would save innocent lives in the long run and GREATLY cut down on these atrocities from occurring.

the foster care system does alot of damage to the children too. this mother is incapable of taking good care of her chidren and now they are going into a system that will damage them even more. my heart goes out to them, given a raw deal with no real hope of any chance.

The child is the one who deserves a chance to live in an environment where their momma doesn't take them to drug dealer's houses. I'm saddened because so many children live in environments with parents that are of such low quality and maturity but that is the direct result of the summer of love 60s crowd. Let you hair down, smoke it, dope it, and screw it. Its the kids who now suffer because of selfish ignorant people who care more about partying than taking care of their kids. There is hope though. My great grandmother in the 1950s had a child out of wedlock and she eventually married my grandfather who had to be put into a foster home as a child because his father was serving time and his mother was playing the whore. They built a family of 9 kids in total and all but two are happily married with only one divorce and one getting government help. That is a pretty good accomplishment and all without welfare and all these government programs we have today.

The ones who deserve a second chance here are the children. They deserve a chance to be raised in a home where they are cherished and protected. Maybe this mother was raised in a similar environment as the one she has created for her children. Maybe that example is all she knows. BUT, the cycle needs to stop. I hope child protective services can ensure a better home for these innocent little ones.

I think the mother should have excercised more caution when taking her daughter into a risky situation llike that. However i understand drug addiction and maybe not having a better alternative. I think the mother is at fault, but i also think the drug dealer should take some blame in the situation too. If you are dealing drugs and have large amounts, or any amounts, OF ANY DRUGS and that is your "occupation" or "lifestyle" than you should be very conciensous of where your drugs are at. And keep them out of childs hands. Its one thing if you can live with yourself more than likely aiding to the destruction of others who are addicted to drugs, but if you really have no disregard for others THAT MUCH SO that you dont give a damn if the gkid accidentally consumes a potentially lethal dose of drugs, than you really dont deserve to live.

Should she be given another chance with her children??? Is that even a reasonable question to be asking???? She should also be sterilized so that she can't have any more children.

really is that even a question?? TAKE THOSE KIDS AWAY NO 2ND CHANCES..I read some comments saying it depends on if this was her first offense..DOES NOT MATTER..& PRAISING HER BC SHE HAD HER KIDS WITH HER INSTEAD OF LEAVING THEM AT HOME..EITHER WAY SHE WAS WRONG..once u become a mother things in ur life must change..yea I understand she has an addiction..IDK maybe I am wrong but I say TAKE THOSE KIDS

I think she needs to put it higher so the child can't reach it. Since she had it in the open it was wrong.

If drugs are that important that she has to endanger her children to get them, you will be giving her more chances to put them in harm's way. I am with you Wanda.

Hell no second for what. She proved her drugs is more important than her kids

After seeing a VERY Simular situation. Mother hooked on drugs. Kids dragged along to the crack house. Kudo's for her for atleast keeping them with her, BUT OHHHH No, with regards to having them around drugs. We hear of house's Burning down from kids left at home. In this case, Her children are her Meal Ticket. Have scene it, witnessed it myself. Her kids are her $$$. Free food, basic assistance. She doesnt need to sell the foodstamps, she sell's her soul. IE Sell's her Body (Money for Drugs), Sells her Kids.. (Food stamps, WIC, Public housing). I have scene a woman, have 7 Kids, 6- Different Fathers..When oldest kid was 18- youngest was 2. the Addict woman's Mother, ie the Grandmother- That is how she funded her Entire life, from age 16- Present. (62). Taking care of her own childrens, children-Via Foster home, via EVEN MORE MONEY... So choice's is horrible either way.

I believe in second chances, but I would think rehab first then maybe supervised visitation.

I doubt someone who took their child to a drug house has a clear record, therefore I don't think she deserves anouther chance with her kids.

They were going to GET drugs. Which means, she wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time and drank the wrong thing. It means she was PUT in that situation BY her mother on PURPOSE. Also she is obviously in a similar situation at her own home considering that her mother would take her children with her to get drugs, gives me every reason to believe she doesn't hide drugs from her children and they probably have access to them at any given time.

2nd chance - maybe. but only after she goes into rehab and gets clean and stays clean for a certain period of time, and then she should have to be subject to routine (unannounced) visits by a sponsor and social worker for another period of time.

There is no way that she deserves another chance! She took her kids with her to score some drugs and that right there is enough reason! What is wrong with people these days? Poor kids.
Gabriela14815884 Gabriela14815884 8 years
If the mother was taking her kids to the drug house then she obviously isn't in the right mind to take care of those kids and doesn't deserve to have them. While second chances should be given in some situations I don't think this is one of them. Thankfully that little girl is still alive.
