Timeless Sibling Themes For Halloween: Daisy and Bee

What's cuter than a child dressed up in costume? His or her sibling in a complementary one! Themed Halloweens were popular in my household growing up. We'd choose what we wanted to be and then my grandma and aunts would get to work making my mother's vision (she couldn't sew) come to fruition. In the 80s plastic costumes were the only ones available for purchase, but today lots of retailers sell affordable outfits for children to wear out trick-or-treating. After shuffling through some old photographs, I came across some pictures of timeless attire for fellow parents to use as inspiration — no trip to the fabric store or thimble required!

Celebrate the spooky holiday by dressing your babe in a sweeter than honey bee costume and the older tot as a darling daisy or her favorite flower. These getups are a salute to mother nature and will have fellow night owls buzzing!

I like sibling matching for halloween if they are interested in it. More often then not, really young kids want to do what the other wants to do anyway. I've never really liked when you see the 5 person family and they're all wearing checkered shirts and jeans, and matching dresses... but ideas like the monkey and the banana are SO cute! Next year for halloween my daughter will be almost 3 and the one we are expecting now will be 6 months. I will probably pick something cute to match the older one. I have 3 siblings and we often did matching halloween costumes. One of the best sets were when I was a roach and my sister was a can of raid.. lol. The things kids like.

luckme — I agree! I'm not a fan of family dressing, but Halloween is one exception if the kids are game. My daughter loved monkeys when she was 2 and dressed as one. Had her brother been born 12 days earlier, he would have been a baby banana. My kids want our babe-to-be to have a costume that matches one of theirs this year too. We'll have to see what they vote on:)

I think matching costumes are adorable! It's such a short window of time that you can do it before they want what they want, so I say take advantage. We're dressing our 2-year-old as a bunny (which she loves and is super excited about) and our youngest is 3 months and she is going to be a carrot.
