12 Back-to-School Scenarios That Give Parents and Kids Real Feelings

Are Two Children Harder Than One?

Which Is Harder: Your First Child or Your Second?

From breastfeeding to diaper changing, everything is a learning experience for new parents. While the trials and tribulations of having and raising the first child are no secret, many get accustomed to the routine of a first born and choose to bring another tot into the mix. While some folks find the task of juggling two little people (or eight, or 19) more difficult than just one, others feel that the second baby is a breeze compared to the first.

Which do you think is harder — the first child or the second?

I am having my second at the end of December and I think it will be harder. I have a 13 year old son and I have become quite accustomed to him being able to do lots of stuff for himself and it will be hard to go back to doing all the work that is required of a new baby. But I will just have to wait and see.

It's much harder to spread the attention around when you have 2 or more little ones.....

I just had my first 7 weeks ago and I've been telling people that I couldn't imagine doing it with an older kid around. So I'm pretty sure second is tougher

This isn't very comforting! I am due the first week of December with my second and have an almost four year old. Sounds stressful.

Funny you should ask that i just had a baby 3 months ago and i have a 4 year old little girl and let me tell you i think it is harder the 2 time around when you have the 1 one you are able to sleep when you need to but when you have 2 children is make it hard when they are on different schedules if you know what i mean.

The first was easier...much easier when it was one on one. I find the second competes for attention.
