I think it's so important for pregnant women to eat vegetables, and not from a health standpoint. I read somewhere that a baby's tastebuds develop in utero, so whatever the mom is eating is going to be what the baby likes. I don't know how true this is, but my daughter's fave foods are blueberries, broccoli, mango and other foods I ate a LOT of when I was pregnant. She also likes spicy foods, and I ate Tabasco on everything for about 3 months. (And chocolate.....)
