This Waitress May Have Just Done the Most Disrespectful Thing to a Breastfeeding Mom We've Ever Heard Of

It's no secret that because of the continuous rise of social media sharing, controversial breastfeeding stories are plentiful and ever-present — but this story may be the cherry on top of the mom-shaming cake, and it's going to make your blood boil.

At a sushi restaurant in Texas — where breastfeeding in public is legal regardless of whether the mother covers up or not — Dylan Downing, mom to 2-month-old Mason, began to nurse openly when her son started to cry. She noticed her waitress walk over almost right away, which she later learned was a result of three men at a nearby table complaining that too much of her breast was visible.

Rather than address the awkward situation with words, the waitress, Rattana, dropped a cloth napkin over Mason's head as she walked by. Downing — who was totally caught off guard — immediately ripped off the napkin and asked the server why she was touching her and her child.

The waitress has since apologized, and although Downing says there are no hard feelings, she left the restaurant without tipping her . . . instead leaving a comment on the receipt that read, "DO NOT touch breastfeeding women."
