What to Do With Halloween Costumes

What Did You Do With Your Child's Halloween Costume?

I was always bigger than my older sister so costumes were never passed down or up. Lots of families have a trunk of disguises that their children raid each year when October nears. Or, people repurpose clothing from ballet tutus to baseball uniforms. Other parents purchase new Halloween outfits for their offspring and don't expect that the ensemble will see another use. I always keep costumes. It comes in handy! This year my nephew was at my place unexpectedly. He had his choice between Batman and Spiderman. He loved it! I've also had friends kids borrow them. They always seem to come in handy.

I packed ours away for next year. Both will work if they want to be them again, and if we have any more kids. My kiddo is kitty crazy, so im sure she will.

Ours go into the dress-up bin. Our girls are 12, 11 and 9 now. But during the you get years, say when they were all under 9, a princess costume was pretty much a daily wear by somebody. Twice my youngest has used a costume her older sisters wore. Once for Dorothy and once for Minnie mouse. Totally her choice. They pick each year. This year we had our first "zombie bride". Kinda miss the Disney princess days....

Considering my daughter is only 4 months old, I doubt her strawberry costume will ever fit again. But, we picked it up on sale at a consignment shop, and I plan on consigning it right on back for the next lucky baby to wear!
