Where to Hide Holiday Gifts

The 10 Most Popular Spots For Hiding Holiday Gifts

Unlike Santa, parents don't have a workshop to store all their holiday gifts. They try to be resourceful given limited space, but one bad spot could spoil the surprise. With the help of its Facebook fans, Wayfair revealed some of the most creative ways to hide gifts from curious children. While some methods are truly one-of-a-kind, others leave us scratching our heads Check out the list below to see why:

  1. Washers/dryers: Because no one does laundry during the holiday season.
  2. Empty suitcases: Perfect for the families who stay home during Christmas.
  3. Attics or basements: Tell kids about the monster in the attic to keep them away.
  4. Trash cans: Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a semismelly gift.
  5. Car trunks: You don't need to store spark plugs and an emergency kit, right?
  6. Dog kennels: Even the pup has to make some sacrifices.
  7. Behind ceiling panels: A hiding spot that would make James Bond proud.
  8. Guest bedroom closets: If they find the loot, say Santa spent the night.
  9. Crawl spaces: That is, if you can fit.
  10. Parents' underwear drawer: Only the bravest child would look there!

We always locked ours in our travel trailer. Only my husband and I have the keys and we had them with us at all times so there is no way our 5 kids could ever get a peek at them!! :)

Always used locked cases..... never was a problem !! lol!! I also wrote tags etc with my left hand as I am ambidextrous - but the handwriting is different - and my children NEVER knew that I could do that !! I also made sure that the paper I used for Santa gifts was NEVER ever used for anyone elses ... so never got the 'Mum .. why does Granny have the same paper on HER gifts as I had on Santa's gifts ???' Devious ?? My middle name ... lol!!! It all worked like a charm..... meant I could hide hubbies gifts too ..... as he never looked for the santa gifts ... Which brings me to my question ... WHY is Santa known as FATHER Christmas, or is male - after all most Santa's are actually the mum's that do the shopping, carrying home, hiding and wrapping of the pressies !!! lol!!

I hide my son's presents in my passage cupboard, it's locked as it has the gas meter in it and other dangerous things like paint and ladders so he never goes in there or looks in.
