The Prettiest Pink, Mint, and Gold Baptism Celebration You've Ever Seen
When it came time to plan her daughter's baptism reception, Tammy of Pink Peppermint Design drew inspiration from her parents. After spending much of her childhood making fun of their wedding colors, she realized that adding gold accents to their pink-and-mint-green color scheme would make for the perfect palette for her little girl's backyard celebration.
Polka dots, chevron stripes, and an abundance of bows filled the outdoor space, and an array of DIY projects gave the party a personal touch. Since guests were coming directly from church, Tammy wanted an easy lunch option that would be ready and waiting for her hungry guests upon arrival. She decided to premake picnic-style boxed lunches and cleverly completed each package with a specific-colored bow to signify what type of sandwich it contained. From the pink chocolate-dipped Rice Krispies Treats to the peony and succulent arrangements, each coordinated accent enhanced the day's sweet feel. Get inspired by all of the feminine details ahead!
DIY Gold Polka-Dot Drinking Bottles
Tammy's favorite DIY project from the party was the gold polka-dot drinking glasses that she created from this easy tutorial.
Giant Canvas Backdrop
The statement backdrop was made from an oversize canvas with gold circles cut from scrapbook paper. The accents were taped to the board so that the backdrop can be repurposed for future events.
Individual Strawberry Mousse Treats
Homemade strawberry mousse and hand-dipped pink chocolate Rice Krispies Treats decorated the dessert table.
Individual Boxed Lunches
Since guests were coming over immediately after the baptism, Tammy opted for prepared food that was packaged for guests to enjoy immediately upon arrival.
DIY Gold Polka-Dot Table Runner
The patterned table runner and napkins were made out of coordinating Michael Miller fabrics.
DIY Gold Baptism Sign
The "I am a child of God" picture was a DIY project made from an old black frame and mat that were spray-painted gold and finished with a glitter topcoat. For the print, text was created in Photoshop, printed, painted with glue, and then covered with glitter.
Handmade White Ruffled Table Skirt
For lunch, each guest received a picnic-style takeout box complete with a sandwich, fruit, and chips.
Beansy Loves Cake's Chevron Fondant Cake
Beansy Loves Cake created the sweet chevron cake based off of a photo that caught Tammy's eye.
Coordinating Polka-Dot Ribbon
One of three different ribbons decorated each packaged lunch, representing whether the box contained a turkey, ham, or roast beef sandwich.
Monogrammed Crest Sugar Cookies
In addition to homemade (and color-coordinated!) treats, monogrammed crest cookies decorated the dessert table.
Whimsical Drinking Glasses With Paper Straws
A summery, pink signature drink greeted guests as they arrived from the church.
Picnic-Style Boxed Lunches
Each boxed lunch was topped with a ribbon and a sweet bow.
Whimsical Backyard Celebration
Posey Pop decorated the feminine tablescape with peonies, succulents, and glitter votives.
Hand-Tied Boxed Lunches
Guests easily knew what was in each boxed lunch based on the ribbon.
