After Getting Divorced, 1 Mom's Positive Take on the "Other Woman" in Her Daughter's Life

Audrey Nicole realizes that each time her little girl visits her dad, his girlfriend is there too — lovingly taking care of her child as if she was her own. Instead of being bitter about the time that her ex-husband's new love spends with her daughter, Audrey is grateful to this "other woman."

Audrey shared a silly snapshot of her girl with the other female role model in her life on Love What Matters' Facebook page along with an insightful message: "No one said it was easy trying to be a mother to a kid you didn't have. So when there is someone trying, don't push them away!"

Learning to coparent, especially when new significant others are involved, can be a difficult process, but Audrey urges others to recognize that having someone else who loves your child is definitely preferable to "the evil step mom." She also notes that how you behave, and the drama you bring, can jeopardize this relationship for your child. "A kid can have two moms because in my eyes the more people that love her I'm happy!" Audrey wrote. "I would never make her feel like an outsider; I'm extremely thankful for this girl. Love more, hate less!"
