As the Telegraph reports, 39-year-old Juliana Finondo was warned that pregnancy would be risky for her because she has a transplanted heart. Still, Finondo was determined to become a mother, and eventually did via in vitro fertilization. Her optimism has paid off: on January 15th, after nine months of careful monitoring, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl she's calling Emilia — an outcome that doctors are hailing as a medical first.
