I was inside an inflatable house and didn't know if I could make it up the climbing wall with a bunch of kids bouncing around me, but it's not because I was too lil, it's because I was too big. But my two kids were relying on me, so I pulled myself up and dragged them along until we reached the top and flew down the slide. For me the same thing was true for ice cream, dirt, face paint, bubbles, and making messes. I don't know if it's because absence makes the heart grow fonder or because I've got my wide-eyed son and daughter by my side, but the second time around is so much more awe inspiring than the first. Who can resist a lick of a lollipop from a sticky child or to jump in an enormous puddle without worrying where the water came from? It's amazing how kids help an adult forget about responsibility, even if it's just for a moment. Are there things you are enjoying more this time around?
