What it is: Many pregnant women experience carpal tunnel syndrome, which causes numbness, tingling, burning, pain, or a dull ache in the fingers, hands, wrists, and even in the shoulders. Thank the extra fluid your body is holding onto.
How it affects exercise: Repetitive movements such as lifting weights or strength training moves that put pressure on your wrists might be too painful, so find other ways to work the same muscles that don't cause wrist pain. Wearing a wrist brace might also offer relief, so ask your doctor about that.
