A Completely Creative Minecraft Party

Considering its entertainment factor and educational components, it's no surprise that both children and parents are obsessed with Minecraft. So when Sofia Mesones of To Help Supermoms wanted to throw son Baltazar a birthday party, she had no problem using the popular video game as inspiration. Of course, planning that party was no easy task for the Catch My Party contributor. At the time of the party, Sofia was working a full-time job, which left her limited time to plan. In the end, however, it was worth it.

"My son was so happy," Sofia says. "I worked so hard to plan this party in my free time, and that smile made it 100 percent worth it!"

At the time of the party, Sofia and her family lived in Spain, and Minecraft merchandise was hard to find. As a result, she had to rely on a lot of DIY projects, like these key-chain favors. Rather than rely on a professional baker, Sofia made the cake herself. This, however, wasn't your typical birthday dessert, as it was made entirely of cookies.

"I used square cookies and alternated between a layer of cookies and a layer of dulce de leche," Sofia says of the cake, which was made to look like a Minecraft structure. Source: Catch My Party user Idify I Do It For You M
