John Oliver is going on hiatus for a month but before taking off, he shared a proposal for Donald Trump's ailing campaign: drop out.

Trump evidently doesn't want to lose in the face of low poll numbers, so Oliver spoke directly to him during a segment on Last Week Tonight. He said Trump should drop out and deliver a speech where he admits to running a satirical campaign on a platform with racial undertones in order to expose the flaws in our country's political system and moral compass. This way, according to Oliver, Trump wouldn't be considered a loser but would go down in history. "Just think about how triumphant it would feel to say on national television, 'I openly ran on a platform of impossibly ignorant proposals steeped in racial bigotry, and nobody stopped me. In fact, you embraced me for it. What the f*ck was that about?'" said Oliver. "You would not be a loser," he added. "You would be a legend."

It hasn't been the best few weeks for Trump: in the last month he implied Hillary Clinton might be assassinated, he insulted the entire black community by saying they were already poor, and he feuded with a fallen Muslim soldier's parents. And that's just the beginning. By taking Oliver's advice and claiming his campaign was political satire, Trump might even land his own federal holiday: "Guy-Who-Decided-Not-to-Be-President's Day."
