This Congressman Went on TV Last Year to Warn Against Trump and Everyone Laughed

Keith Ellison still isn't laughing. The Minnesota Democratic representative recently shared a clip on his Facebook page from July of 2015 when he was a guest on ABC's This Week With George Stephanopoulos talking about Donald Trump running for president.

He warned about Trump's growing popularity, saying that democrats who were scared of Trump needed to mobolize against the business mogul. "This man has got some momentum, and we better be ready for the fact he might be leading the Republican ticket."

At that comment, his peers laughed and laughed — and laughed and laughed. "I know you dont belive that," said Stephanopoulos.

"Sorry to laugh," said New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman.

"I'm telling you, stranger things have happened," answered Ellison with a straight face. He captioned the now-viral video with, "Sometimes I hate to be right."
