It's Just the Beginning — Here's a Rundown of the Upcoming Marches to Protest Trump

The Women's March sent a strong message to President Donald Trump: he can threaten to take away personal rights, but he cannot silence the people — and activists across the country are taking note. Following the success of the Women's March, which by many estimates was one of the largest demonstrations in American history, activists have planned at least two other marches in Washington DC to protest Trump's alarming new policies.

In his first week, Trump's administration has already silenced the EPA from communicating facts about climate change and instructed the agency to scrub its website of facts about climate science. The president has also delivered on his extremist anti-immigration campaign rhetoric by signing an executive order to build a wall; he's expected to sign another order which would temporarily ban people from "terror-prone" countries from entering America, according to Politico.

In response to these executive orders, scientists and immigration activists will also march on Washington. The March For Science has a few hundred thousand attendees on Facebook, but no official date, while a People's Climate March on Washington has also been organized for April 29, around Trump's 100th day in office.

An immigration march has also been organized for May 6. The Facebook event for the Immigrants' March already has 13,000 confirmed attendees and over 70,000 people interested; it will take place on the National Mall.

As Trump signs more executive orders that potentially threaten citizens' rights, more activists are likely to organize. We will update this post if more marches are scheduled.
