Couch Saver: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

If your furry friends can't resist cuddling up on the couch, you're often left with piles of pet hair on the furniture, and then all over your clothes. I don't necessarily like to be labeled as a pet owner before anyone sees my actual dog (based on the amount of hair on my jacket), so I can't fathom having hair-covered couches. The machine-washable Couch Saver ($129) is perfect to keep your sofa safe and cozy with super-soft, pill-resistant microsuede fabric that repels pet hair, dirt, and stains. The best feature that sets this apart from a blanket is the 27-inch-high back panel, additional arm guards, and even a supportive bolster for your pet to lean back on. Is this a must-have for your homes, are your pets not allowed on the furniture period, or do you not care either way?

I like this very much but the price is just too much. We found some great covers/throws at Costco a few months back for covering furniture that have worked great with our dog. Water resistant too so we have not had to worry about any of those type of issues getting through to the cushions on the sofa.

This would even work for my kitties, they get hair all over my furniture. I agree it looks good, but is a little too much money.

I love the idea, my dog sleeps on the couch all day and a blanket works for the seat cushions but it never stays up over the back cushions, but I think I can make something similar for less money.

I like it, but it's a bit pricey!

I'm assuming you move it when company comes over – I'd imagine it's good for those non-crate trained pets while you are out of the house.

I said other because while I REALLY like this idea I don't know if I would 1)pay that much for it or 2)buy it at all....just because my dog and my two cats are pretty much allowed anywhere. My bf and I have a white leather couch that we probably will get rid of when we move after graduating from college, but as of now it doesn't show any hair! Maybe once we get some grown up furniture this would be a good thing. Do you just remove it when you have people coming over? Or do people sit on top of it too? I'm confused

I NEED this! The couch is where my cat spends 90% of his day. And my dog has to join him up there occasionally. I have a sofa that seats 4 and we're lucky if one actual person gets to use it!

I think it's a good idea - much more comfortable and attractive than a blanket and even other products designed for this. I don't get it though. If the dog/cat sheds on the sofa, you get an ugly fur-covered sofa. If you put this on top, you have an ugly fur-covered couch protector-covered sofa. I guess it take it off when company comes over?

Great idea. My dog Io sleeps on the loveseat, but we have leather couches so no pet hair problems. plus she's only a moderate shedder (lab/german shepherd mix).

A great idea! Though just covering the couch with a blanket seems to be a much cheaper, and easier to wash option. Seems to work with my family's bulldog! And they are drool monsters...
