My Boston Terrier doesn't have one to chase!

I think dogs do it because it's a way of playing or clearing their tails of fleas/ticks before cleaning them with their tongues. A vet told me that - But I'm somewhat dubious... - I do know that whenever I had cats & some idiot thought it was funny to tie something to their tails... It literally drove the poor thing crazy. The cat would go in circles to rid themselves of whatever was on their tails. It was NEVER FUNNY but CRUEL & I would always let them know it... & keep them AWAY from my cats.

One of my dogs used to sometimes, but he doesn't do it much anymore. When he started doing it, I would correct him, so it never became an obsession.
